Monday November 2, 2009 ( Day 39)
No fly - not scheduled to fly. Studied allllllll day! =0
Tuesday November 3, 2009 (Day40)
No fly - I was scheduled to fly, but I was the 3rd flight for my assigned IP (instructor pilot), and that wasn't going to happen. So in result, it was considered an "Ops Loss" and I did not get to fly.
Wednesday November 4, 2009 (Day 41)
Its been 6 days since I flew last! =0 I finally got to go up again today, but it was technically an "86 ride" which means that it isn't graded, and officially referred to as a "warm up ride." Boy if felt good to get back into the fly routine - I needed it!
I Pulled 5+ Gs today and it felt pretty darn good! =)
In a 5 G turn, the positive gravitational force is 5 times normal everyday life, so according to gravity I weighed over 900 lbs, and you can feel it! Besides getting pressed into your seat and having trouble breathing and moving, the excessive gravitational force pulls blood from your brain towards your feet. That is why "G-Straining" is so important, to prevent yourself from "blacking out" or going unconscious. We did about four exercises where we did 180 degree turns, which takes about 7-10 seconds.
This is called "GX" short for G-Exercise. Entry speed is 200-220 Knots (around 240 MPH). You bank the T-6 to eighty degrees to one side, pause, then pull back until you see the "accelerameter" go to 4 or 5 Gs, then hold it until you turn 180 degress. MY FAVORITE MANEUVER SO FAR!
1.3 hour flight (6.5 hours total T-6 flying time)
15 Total landings
Thursday November 5, 2009 (Day42)
