UPT Week 2 (Sept 14-18 )

Monday September 14, 2009(Day 5)
Aerospace Physiology Continued...Emergency Ground Egress training in cockpit trainers and seat trainers (where you strap in all your 12 connections to the seat and get out as fast as you can) as well as check our helmets/masks for Thursday's altitude chamber demo. Learned about spatial disorientation, noise/vibration, took my first test - Survival (96%), then went over and took the intro to the T-6 and then learned aircraft Flight Controls. In all, a 11 hour day! =)

Tuesday September 15, 2009(Day 6)
Parachutes, Landing/Falls, Anti-G Straining Maneuver (AGSM), FACT, a lil O'Club social/welcome to Del Rio - Met our class sponsors (a high class ranch, a java resteraunt, and Mcdonalds).

FACT Test!!! Fighter Aircrew Conditioning Test!!! =0

Arm Curls, Chest Press, Lat Pulldown, Leg Press, Leg Curl, Pushups, Situps, Machine Squats all at different % of my body weight (i.e. Chest Press at .8 times my body weight and Leg Press at 1.6 times my body, etc).

I trained for the past few months on the specific exercises (mainly hamstrings & leg presses) and it paid off! Not only did I MAX the test, but I maxed the max just to be a manly-man! AGGGHHH!!! YEE-HAH! Heck - who am I kidding - I like PUMPING IRON because it is GOOD! What was once a 142 lb high school senior is now a 181 lb muscle clad machine! AGGGHHH! =0

First - Arm Curls at .35 times my bodyweight
(15 repetitions at a 5 second count)

Next, Lat Pull Down at .75 times my bodyweight
(15 repetitions at a 5 second count)

Next, Let press at 1.6 times my body weight
(15 repetitions at a 5 second count)

Post Test - Reaping the benefits of MAXING the test!!!

Wednesday September 16, 2009(Day 7)
Longgggg day! First half of day was practicing parachute landings from heights of 0-20 feet! =0 Then was night vision, spinning effects, and hydraulics! AGGGGHHH!!!

Thursday September 17, 2009(Day 8)
BIG Aerospace Physiology test...PASSED! I scored a 92%, not bad considering anything below an 88% is a FAIL!!!! =0

Friday September 18, 2009(Day 9)
Crew Resource Management, lunch, Flight Control Review Session, POW/MIA ceremony, FLYBY of 4 T-38s, and the #3 jet doing a "missing man salute" - it was SWEET!
***HAPPY BIRTHDAY US AIR FORCE!!! 62 Years old!!! ***

Me in altitude chamber and everything is A'OK!

Trying to figure out the CRU-60 oxygen hookup connector.

At least the visors work! =)

As seen on the outside of the T-6. Watch out!!!

Ground Egress - strapped in the ejection seat.

EJECTION HANDLE - PULL

  2. Baller man - ya must be fun with the T-6 intro and the flight controls. I hope you didn't get too turned on... I do just thinking about it.

Also some baller activity with the work outs inlined with your weight. Physical skill will set apart the strong and the weak - remember - strong in mind = strong in body. YOU THE MAN. Way to do your homework too on knowing what you have to accomplish with the different gravity tests - MAXED TO THE MAX TIMES MAX!

Get this workout - well first I we just secured FIRST place in volleyball - tournie next Thursday for a T-Shirt - Champions of Champions tournie that weekened for a complimentary Keg and $75 food voucher at the bar. That'll be the shit!

Try this, my work out this morning. You will feel the burn.

ALL FAST - little rest inbetween, maybe 30-60 seconds between sets.

    Start...
25 pullups (total, doesn't have to be all at onece, I didn't)
    25 Deadlifts - 100 lbs. or so
    50 Standing leaps onto bench
25 x2 One arm dumbell clean and jerks, 30 lbs.
25 x2 Window Washers (lay on back, hold barbell 100lbs. w/ locked elbows above head, keep knees together and raise legs to 90 degrees, continue holding weight straight above your head while you twist your legs from side to side - much like 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock on a clock... clock!
25 last pull ups (not all in a row, unless you are a machine)

    ALL UNDER 25 MINUTES!
It was a baller workout from my personal trainer this moring.

Alright sir, be safe down there.
I'm off to Chicago for a few nights - VIP at the White Sox Stadium sponsored by Jim Bean will complement the weekend just fine!
